Annual Appeal
(Fall Kickoff)

Once a year, Tamarack asks families, friends and alumni to make a donation to the school. Your donation, however large or small, is deeply appreciated, because it is critical to our ability to offer a complete Waldorf curriculum to our families.

Tamarack offers a unique, quality Waldorf education, with a mission of making this specialized education affordable to all who want it. While all private schools must fundraise to bridge the gap between tuition and expenses, at Tamarack, it is a special challenge. We must also bridge a tuition gap, but unlike many other private schools, the majority of our families are low-income, and we do not have the extra support of a large institution behind us. But it is not big wallets upon which we depend, it is big hearts!

We strive for 100% participation from our school families in our Annual Appeal to demonstrate to outsiders, such as fundraising organizations and donors, that we are a school whose families are dedicated. We also seek to build relationships with those in the Milwaukee area or elsewhere who value innovations in education, healthy living, and the arts.

Open Houses (summer and winter)

Open Houses are a wonderful time for parents interested in a Waldorf education to come and visit our school and meet various people from the Tamarack community.

The January Open House, our largest of the year, is Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, from 1-4 p.m.

December Winter Fair

This special event enriches our school community and offers a wonderful introduction to those unfamiliar with Tamarack. The fair features Waldorf friendly vendors, great food, entertainment, a secret gift shop just for children, crafts and more.

Benefit Party

Tamarack hosts an adult evening of dinner, entertainment, silent auction and raffle, open to the Tamarack community and all who wish to come. The party is Tamarack Waldorf School's biggest fund raising event.

Class Fundraisers

Tamarack students begin fundraising for their 8th grade class trip beginning in 5th grade. There are numerous fundraisers -- from bake sales to tee-shirt sales, pizza lunches to market baskets -- throughout the school year. Parents are encouraged to participate to the extent of their interest and ability. In the past, 8th grade classes have been able to visit Estes Park in Colorado, New Orleans, Chicago, San Francisco, Yosemite Park, Kentucky, the coast of North Carolina, and to go on a Civil Rights Tour of the South.
