Lantern Walk
As autumn deepens and the days grow shorter, Waldorf communities around the world prepare for one of their most beloved traditions, the Lantern Walk. It’s a simple yet deeply meaningful celebration that invites children and families to carry their handmade lanterns into the night, symbolizing the light that shines within each of us, even as the world grows darker.
At Tamarack Waldorf School, we invite our past and future families, neighbors, surrounding community members to join us on this cherished tradition.

Wreath Making Workshop
DESIGN & CREATE YOUR OWN WREATH!
Katie Schwarz, a long-time Tamarack Parent with 20 years of floral experience, will guide the workshop and provide expert tips for completing your door decor.
In this ‘potluck’ style workshop, participants are encouraged to bring your own decorative elements, seasonal trimmings, additional greens, or other personalized items for your wreath - - - and bring some extras to share!

A Winter Spiral at Spark in the Dark Event
For the first time ever, Tamarack Waldorf School is teaming up with the Urban Ecology Center for its Spark in the Dark midwinter celebration! And we’re excited to bring a beloved Waldorf tradition to the wider community: the Winter Spiral.
Each year, at Tamarack and Waldorf schools around the world, we welcome the winter solstice with this beautiful and reflective ceremony. Participants of all ages are invited to walk a winding path of evergreen boughs toward a central flame, light a candle, and place it along the spiral.
The Winter Spiral symbolizes the inward journey we take during the darkest days of the year—and reminds us that even a small light can help brighten the world around us.
The Winter Spiral will be just one of many special experiences at Spark in the Dark. Stay tuned for more details!

Fall Fest Open House
This open house-style event invites friends, families, and community members an inside Tamarack. Its a great opportunity to see the magic of Waldorf education. The event will feature a lineup of musical performances, activities, food and beverage offerings, and more games.
Children's Clothing Swap
Children’s Clothing Swap at Fall Fest
Have a bin of outgrown kids’ clothes tucked away in a corner? Ready to make room for the next size up?
Give those gently loved clothes a second life! Join us at Tamarack’s Fall Fest & Open House for a Children’s Clothing Swap. Bring what your kids have outgrown, browse for something new-to-you, and connect with other families in our community.
When/Where to Drop Clothes Off:
October 19-23 at Tamarack: Drop your donations at the front office between 8:30 and 3:00 the week leading up to the event, OR
October 24 (Day of the Event): Bring clothes on the day of the Fall Fest beginning at 9am.
HOW IT WORKS
Bring: Clean, gently used baby and children’s clothing to the school on the day of the event between 9am-10am.
Browse: Find a few treasures for your growing kiddos!
Share: Give clothes a new home and help another family.
Everyone is welcome! Come swap, share, and celebrate community at Fall Fest. One family’s outgrown clothes are another family’s new favorites!
